Standard questions still call for preparation

While it's important for job candidates to research the specifics of a company,
they shouldn't neglect the necessary preparation for the standard questions.
"A well-prepared person should be able to weather most questions with relative ease," says Ted Martin, CEO of Martin Partners, a search firm recruiting senior management team members in Chicago.
Some of the standard interview questions and answers include:
"What are your
strengths and your weaknesses?"
Explain what you do well, providing
specifics on how you do it. Also, mention your weaknesses, but be sure to
discuss how you are addressing them.
"Why did you decide to go into (your profession)?"
Be honest. Don't be afraid to admit to a desire for money or stability, but
be sure to discuss the need to face challenges and other reasons you value the
profession.
"Do you have any questions for me?"
You should always have questions. Research the company before the interview
and ask questions related to the position, the company's status in the industry
and the company's plans for the future.
