THE POSITION
The Director, Learning and
Development is responsible for the successful planning and implementation of
learning initiatives firm wide. This position oversees the Firm’s Learning
and Development Initiatives by designing and delivering solutions that are
tied to business needs and provides employees with necessary skills across
career stages and experience levels. The Director will team with various
professionals to deliver high impact programs. This successful individual will
report directly to the National Director of Human Resources and could be based
in either Chicago or New York. Key Responsibilities:

Align learning solutions with Firm’s strategic
business plan.

Provide thought leadership around professional
growth, development and learning.

Design and implement professional and leadership
development curriculum, including the BDO Leadership Institute.

Develop core technical training in conjunction
with our National Assurance and Tax business line leaders.

Develop core technology training in support of
Firm's business needs.

Deliver annual core technical training calendar.

Manage national department of learning
professionals while serving as a member of senior HR leadership.

Roll out individualized learning plan process,
guideline and tools.

Implement Career Advisor training, certification
programs and Learning Management systems.
THE INDIVIDUAL
-
Bachelor degree required. Advance degree
preferred.

A minimum of twelve plus years experience in all
aspects of training design, development and delivery in a service industry
with multiple geographic locations.

A record of accomplishment culminating in a
thought leadership role in a similar sized or larger organization.

Ability to assess learning needs and collaborate
on the design, development, and delivery of effective learning solutions.

Ability to implement and deliver tactics for
strategic plans (or Excellent strategic and process thinking abilities).

Understanding and experience with professional
certification and continuing educational requirements.

Proactive relationship building ability coupled
with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborative
partnerships across the organization.

Leadership and teamwork track record with
potential to organize and evolve a learning team.
