THE COMPANY

Our client is a diversified financial services firm headquartered in Chicago with 20 locations in the US and UK. They have six divisions covering Investment Banking, Investment Services, Investment Management, Insurance Services, Real Estate and Financial Advisory Consulting. The restructuring practice is part of Financial Advisory Consulting and includes corporate recovery, litigation and investigative services, valuation services and interim management. Current needs are in Chicago, NYC, Dallas, and Charlotte.

THE POSITION

In these positions, you will work side by side with clients as advisors or in the role of Chief Restructuring Officer.  A consulting/financial advisory background from a top tier firm with a heavy emphasis on turnaround/restructuring is needed. Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing financial analysis regarding restructuring/turnaround services for underperforming companies and their stakeholders
• Analyzing business transactions and restructuring strategies and provide reports for clients to assist in understanding business operations; prepare industry analysis, conflict checks and analysis on business specifics
• Preparing financial models to track and report company performance
• Reviewing financial statements and company’s forecasts to determine an outlook on the company’s future
• Assisting with claims management, cash management and data analysis
• Preparing client presentations and proposal material
• Examining and identifying the fundamental causes associated with the underperformance of our client companies and address critical operational and financial issues; provide expert opinion on improving liquidity and operational results
• Identifying potential tax, audit and reporting issues relating to restructuring of a company’s balance sheet or operations
• Developing and maintaining client relationships while identifying new business opportunities, new business development and responding to changes in client expectations and the business environment

• Experience with debt or creditor  restructuring

THE INDIVIDUAL

Candidates need to have a high level of confidence and assertiveness to present and promote ideas and advice at all levels. They will need to assist clients in creating effective solutions to improve their productivity and reputation in the worldwide market. Additional requirements include:

• Experience with all aspects of restructuring including Chapter 11 filings
• Familiar with US and international bankruptcy laws
• Audit and tax experience with a big four firm is a plus
• Excellent oral and written skills
• A team player who can excel in a fast paced and challenging work environment
• Ambitious and motivated with a desire to succeed
• A high energy level with the ability to contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of the team
• MBA, CPA, CFA, CTP or CIRA preferred
• Ability to travel  60-80%, Monday-Friday
