THE COMPANY
Company is private equity owned and a leader in the supply, repair and servicing of oil and gas field and industrial products and equipment in the Illinois and Appalachian Basins. There are two divisions and multiple retail stores carrying over 40,000 inventory items. Revenues exceed $20 million.
THE POSITION
The President and Chief Operating Officer will report to the Board of Directors and directly supervise the functional areas of Store Operations, Sales, Supply Chain Operations, Finance/Controller, Administration, Information Technology, and a smaller business unit.

Major Issues/Goals
Overall growth in EBITDA.
Increase depth and breadth of customer base and customer profitability.
Develop best-in-class supply chain management infrastructure to support current and future growth.
Expand geographic store footprint.
Overall Objectives
Achieve financial goals as agreed upon with CEO and board of directors.
Lead the senior management team in managing the day to day activities and operations of the company.
Develop and mentor talent. Establish goals and incentives and evaluate progress.
Provide direction, structure and accountability to sales and marketing team.
Participate with CEO and board of directors in strategic discussions
Further evolve the supply chain infrastructure of the company to optimize inventory turns and product profitability while preparing the company for future growth.
Ensure financial and administrative structure efficiently supports the business.
Further develop metrics-based performance environment and the necessary management systems to support it.
Travel -Approximately 20%.
THE INDIVIDUAL
Education/Certifications
B.S. / B.A. required.
MBA a plus but not required.
Specific Experience
Must have 10+ years of increasing management and P&L responsibility for a similar sized industrial distribution operation as a stand-alone organization or significant business unit of a larger company. Previous leadership experience for sales and marketing and supply chain management in a multi-location, inventory based distribution environment is required.
Experience working with a professional sales management organization to lead market expansion in a high growth environment.
Strong knowledge of supply chain industry systems, trends and best practices with a proven track record of success in managing and implementing solutions in a growth environment. Experience/training in a continuous improvement environment (i.e., Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, etc.) is a plus.
Strategic thinker having the ability to develop short term strategies for optimizing operating performance, while looking at the longer term business goals.
A strong team builder and mentor who is comfortable and experienced working in a fast paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with clients and all staff levels.
Knowledge of energy industry strongly desired but not required.
